UK citizens can continue to use their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) until its expiry date.
Travellers can use the EHIC to receive state-provided healthcare if they get sick or have an accident whilst in Italy or another EU member state.
As a result of Brexit, the EHIC is being replaced by the Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC).
